These Terms are an agreement between you and Orendasys Inc., an Ontario, Canada corporation ("Orendasys", "we", "us"), which operates FridgeMath. Contact details: hello@fridgemath.com; see T-12 for our mailing address. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.
By creating an account and affirmatively accepting these Terms, you agree to them. We will provide a way to access and retain the applicable version.
Language and assent: For Québec consumers, the French version of these standard-form Terms and related documents must be supplied before any express choice to contract in another language, to the extent the Québec Charter of the French Language applies.
T-1What FridgeMath is
FridgeMath is a personal budgeting and money-recording application that can categorize user-entered or imported transactions, prepare budgets, and calculate estimates and forecasts. FridgeMath is not a bank, investment adviser, licensed financial planner, lender, tax adviser or money-transfer service. It does not hold or move your money. We do not provide personalized financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
Information shown may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. Bank connections may omit, change, duplicate or delay transactions; imported data can contain errors; budget calculations and forecasts depend on the information and assumptions supplied. Always check important amounts against original account records before making a consequential decision. This warning does not waive any legal right you have if our own service is defective or we are negligent.
International availability. FridgeMath is operated from Canada and can be accessed from different countries through supported websites and app platforms. Individuals located in the EU/EEA and UK may sign up for free plans and purchase eligible paid plans through Stripe Managed Payments when available; FridgeMath does not exclude them solely because of their location. Bank connections, subscription purchases, currencies, and certain features depend on our service providers and applicable local requirements. Access from a location or use of a particular language does not guarantee that every feature is available there. Applicable privacy and consumer rights remain in effect regardless of these Terms.
We do not run advertising campaigns specifically targeting the EU/EEA or UK. This does not limit any rights under applicable local law.
T-2Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use FridgeMath.
- Provide accurate account information and protect your login and authentication methods. Notify security@fridgemath.com promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
- You are responsible for actions you authorize through your account and for selecting budget-sharing permissions, but not for losses that applicable law places on us or for acts outside your reasonable control.
- Each person should use their own account. You may not access another person's account without authorization.
- We may use reasonable security checks to protect accounts and comply with law.
T-3Ownership, licences and shared budgets
You retain your rights to information and files that you enter or upload. You grant Orendasys a limited, non-exclusive right to host, back up, transmit and process that material solely to provide, secure, maintain and support the services you choose, including displaying a shared budget to authorized members. We do not acquire ownership of your financial information, sell it, or use it to train AI models.
Only add information and invite members when you have the necessary rights or authority. Budget-sharing roles determine what invited members can view or change; an invitation may expose account balances, transactions, attachments, notes and other members' information. You can review and change available permissions in the application. If you leave a shared budget or close your own account, information in that budget may remain accessible to other members under the Privacy Policy.
FridgeMath software, trademarks and other service materials belong to Orendasys or its licensors. We give you a revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for personal and household budgeting in compliance with these Terms and applicable law.
T-4Acceptable use
You must not use FridgeMath unlawfully; access accounts or financial information without authorization; attempt to bypass security or plan restrictions; interfere with other users; or sell or operate FridgeMath as a commercial service for others without permission. Responsible disclosure of vulnerabilities is welcome at security@fridgemath.com; obtain permission before intrusive testing.
We may limit, suspend or terminate access for a material violation, serious security threat, or legal requirement. Where lawful and reasonably possible, we will explain the reason and allow a chance to resolve less urgent issues. Suspension does not remove rights to lawful refunds or exports. We do not exclude liability for errors on our part that the law makes our responsibility.
T-5Free and paid plans, renewals, taxes and cancellation
Before payments launch: No paid plan is available and no charge is made. The paid-plan provisions below apply only when purchase functionality is switched on and the required checkout disclosures and consumer-rights processes are operating.
Once payments are enabled:
- The plan page and checkout show the plan's features, price, currency, applicable taxes, total payable, billing interval, initial term, automatic-renewal terms, and instructions for cancellation and withdrawal. The amount and terms confirmed at checkout govern your purchase, subject to mandatory law.
- Paid plans are billed in advance for the selected monthly or yearly period. Unless you cancel before the next billing date, they automatically renew for the disclosed interval. You must actively agree to recurring charges; we will provide an accessible record of the agreement and a receipt or other durable confirmation.
- Merchant of record and payment: Paid purchases are made using Stripe Managed Payments, with Stripe's Link merchant-of-record arrangement shown at checkout. Stripe/Link handles payment collection and the transaction, sends receipts and invoices, and provides transaction-related customer support. The applicable Stripe/Link purchase terms provided at checkout also apply to your purchase. Orendasys remains responsible for providing FridgeMath, its features, service quality and product support under these Terms. Buying through Stripe does not remove any consumer rights against Orendasys that applicable law provides.
- Minimal billing records: To enable paid access and subscription support, FridgeMath intends to retain only Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, plan, status, billing period, amount, currency and billing country. Stripe/Link separately handles full payment and billing information.
- Taxes: For Managed Payments transactions in jurisdictions covered by Stripe's indirect-tax program, Stripe is responsible for calculating, collecting, filing and remitting applicable sales tax, VAT and GST. In jurisdictions not covered by its tax-liability program, Orendasys may remain responsible for local indirect-tax compliance even if the transaction uses Managed Payments. Taxes and the total payment amount are shown at checkout as required by law.
- Currency: Stripe may present local-currency prices, and currency-converted recurring charges may vary with exchange rates even if the plan's underlying price has not changed. Your bank or card issuer may also apply separate charges. Confirm your payment currency and total at checkout. We will not characterize a change caused solely by an exchange rate as a change in the underlying plan price.
- Manage and cancel subscriptions: On the FridgeMath web application and iPhone and Android apps, go to Settings > Billing > Manage Subscription. This opens the appropriate Stripe/Link subscription-management experience, where eligible subscriptions can be managed or cancelled. You can also access order management through your Link account (you may need to create or access a Link account after a guest checkout) or contact billing@fridgemath.com for assistance. Cancellation stops future automatic renewals and ordinarily leaves paid features available until the current prepaid period ends; it does not itself exercise any separate statutory withdrawal right, request a refund, or delete your FridgeMath account. We will coordinate entitlements and required payment actions with Stripe.
- Stripe/Link sends receipts, invoices and certain subscription messages. Additional renewal notices and trial or cancellation notices may be required by law. We will ensure legally required notices are sent, regardless of whether Stripe or Orendasys transmits them.
- We will announce a prospective price increase or material reduction of plan allowances at least 30 days in advance, or longer where the law requires. No increase changes an already-paid period. We will obtain new consent or offer cancellation and a legally required refund when applicable.
- Ordinarily, cancelling a subscription stops the next renewal rather than refunding time already used. Stripe/Link offers a payment-related refund request process, and its applicable purchase and refund terms govern that process, subject to mandatory law. You can contact Link payment support or billing@fridgemath.com; we will assist with product-related issues and coordinate any required refund with Stripe. Nothing here restricts statutory withdrawal, cancellation, refund or consumer-guarantee rights. If we discontinue a paid service before the end of a prepaid period, we will arrange any refund required by law, ordinarily including an appropriate refund for unused service.
- Failing to pay or downgrading does not automatically delete your existing budget records. Bank synchronization and plan-specific features may stop, but available records remain accessible for manual use and export, subject to limits disclosed before purchase.
EU/EEA and UK statutory withdrawal (when paid subscriptions are offered in those markets). Consumers generally have a statutory 14-day withdrawal/cancellation period for qualifying distance services, with local exceptions and different rules for digital content. Starting an ongoing digital service immediately does not, by itself, mean the right disappears. If you explicitly ask us to begin providing a service during that period and then withdraw, an amount proportionate to the service already supplied may be payable where the law permits and the required notices and consents have been given. We will provide the mandated pre-purchase explanation, any applicable model withdrawal form, and the required checkout acknowledgement. To exercise the right, contact Stripe/Link payment support, identifying the purchase and stating that you are exercising a statutory cooling-off right, or contact billing@fridgemath.com. Where applicable, we will also make available a separate, clearly labelled statutory withdrawal function, distinct from Manage Subscription, with online submission, acknowledgement and durable confirmation; it may be operated through a compliant Stripe/Link flow or through FridgeMath, depending on the verified implementation. We will coordinate with Stripe so lawful requests are handled and confirmed. For EU online distance contracts to which the online-withdrawal-function requirement applies, a prominently accessible withdrawal function, acknowledgement and durable confirmation must operate as required.
Stripe/Link and FridgeMath support. For charges, receipts, billing details, payment disputes and payment-side refunds, use Link payment support. For FridgeMath features, errors, plan entitlements or service delivery, use support@fridgemath.com. For questions spanning both, contact billing@fridgemath.com and we will coordinate with the payment provider. We do not require customers to resolve an underlying FridgeMath service complaint with Stripe alone.
T-6Bank connections
Connections are optional and currently facilitated by Plaid where available. Our access is intended to be read-only and cannot initiate transfers. Bank coverage and synchronization depend on third parties, and connections may expire or fail. You must be permitted to access any connected account. Plaid and the relevant financial institution may present separate notices or terms that apply to their own services; connecting through Plaid does not remove FridgeMath's legal responsibilities. When you disconnect a Plaid bank connection through FridgeMath, we will use Plaid's /item/remove endpoint to revoke it, invalidate the associated token, and stop new synchronization. If a connection includes more than one account, disconnecting it affects all associated accounts. Previously imported financial history stays in the budget until an authorized user deletes it or the relevant budget is deleted, subject to our Privacy Policy and limited lawful retention obligations. A later reconnection requires new Plaid authorization. If revocation fails, the application must not display the connection as successfully disconnected until the failure is resolved.
T-7Availability, maintenance and changes to features
We use reasonable efforts to operate and secure FridgeMath but cannot guarantee constant availability or that a particular institution will always connect. We may perform maintenance, repair errors, and make updates. We will give reasonable notice of material interruptions when possible. We will not use this clause to deny mandatory performance standards, remedies or consumer rights. We will notify you before materially removing paid features and provide the cancellation or refund options required by law.
T-8Closing an account or ending the service
You can delete your account through Settings > Your account; consider exporting information first. Deleting your account may not delete shared-budget content still used by other members, and backup and legally required records may persist for limited periods as described in our Privacy Policy. The 30-day change-history feature can reverse certain ordinary edits, but it cannot restore financial records after an authorized user confirms their permanent deletion.
We may terminate accounts for material breaches of T-4 or as required for security or legal compliance, normally with notice unless urgent action is required. If we stop providing FridgeMath entirely, we aim to give at least 60 days' advance notice and preserve available exports during that period. We will refund prepaid but undelivered service where law requires, and ordinarily provide a proportionate refund for unused paid subscription time when we end the service without your breach. We will give any additional notice or remedy required by local consumer law.
T-9Warranties and liability
FridgeMath is a personal budgeting and financial recordkeeping tool, not a bank or financial advisory service.
Information obtained from financial institutions and third-party providers may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. Financial forecasts and calculations depend on the underlying information and assumptions. You should independently verify important financial information before making consequential decisions.
We are not responsible for inaccuracies originating solely from third-party financial institutions or circumstances outside our reasonable control, except where applicable law makes us responsible.
We remain responsible for our own conduct and obligations to the extent required by law, including applicable consumer protections, data protection obligations, and liability arising from our negligence or breach of contract.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
T-10Changes to these Terms
These Terms take effect on the effective date displayed with the final version published for acceptance. Each revised version will state its effective date and last-updated date. We will retain a version history and an internal record of which version each account holder affirmatively accepted, together with the acceptance time, subject to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy. You can request or obtain the applicable Terms version.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to FridgeMath or legal, operational and security requirements. For ordinary material changes, we will give at least 30 days' advance notice by email and in the application, or a longer period if applicable law requires. We will describe what changed, when it takes effect, and any relevant cancellation or refund rights. Changes needed urgently to address an active security threat, prevent abuse, or comply with law may take effect sooner if advance notice is not reasonably possible; we will explain and notify you as soon as reasonably practicable, subject to any legal restriction. We will not use the urgent-change exception simply to avoid the ordinary notice period for price increases, reduced paid features or other nonurgent commercial changes.
Where applicable law requires express agreement, we will obtain it before a revised provision binds you. Continuing to use FridgeMath does not waive a statutory right or replace consent that the law requires. If you reject an applicable change and cannot reasonably continue the affected paid service, you may cancel and receive any refund required by law. Revisions do not retroactively take away accrued rights.
T-11Governing law, consumer disputes and payment-provider terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, subject to any mandatory consumer protection or conflict-of-laws rules that apply to you.
Courts in Ontario may hear disputes where they have jurisdiction. Ontario is not an exclusive forum for consumer disputes. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from bringing a claim before a court, regulator or dispute-resolution body available to you under mandatory applicable law, or deprives you of mandatory consumer protections in your country or place of habitual residence. Nothing in these Terms requires arbitration or waives class-action rights.
Separate Stripe/Link purchase terms. When you purchase a paid subscription through Stripe Managed Payments, the Stripe/Link merchant-of-record terms presented during checkout also govern the payment transaction, billing, and applicable transaction-side refund and dispute procedures. These FridgeMath Terms continue to govern Orendasys Inc.'s provision of the application and related services. Stripe/Link purchase terms do not eliminate consumer claims or rights you may have against Orendasys under applicable law. Where requirements conflict, non-waivable consumer protections apply.
